An electricity official who arrived a Lagos community to repair a faulty transformer has lost his life in the process.
An unnamed official of one of the power distribution companies in Lagos allegedly died on Saturday while he and his colleagues were doing repair works on a transformer.

Facebook user, Obinna Precious Anyaibe, said the men had arrived his Ogba, Lagos neighbourhood on Saturday, and had informed residents that they had come to repair a fault on the transformer serving the area.

Anyaibe wrote: “He and his crew came to our street to do work on our transformer.

“When they arrived at our compound (our compound is the nearest to the transformer), they offloaded their tools.

“I came out of my house to meet them. They weren’t in uniform; so, I asked them who they were and what they had come to do.

“This guy then explained why they had come. I didn’t know (that) our transformer was faulty until he told me. They had come to fix it.

“I laughed. It was raining and they wanted to work on the transformer? I laughed and told him jokingly that under this weather condition, one of his crew would die today. I didn’t mean what I said.

“It happened here in Lagos, Ogba area.”

The identity of the said electricity supply official was unknown as of the time of filing this report.
